Sometimes, when I’m least expecting it, someone will send me a text or a message, and I’ll feel a million time better and far less alone. This is one of the things I’m grateful for, even though I’m not American and I’m hijacking their Thanksgiving day. It is important to feel connected; and it is surprising how much difference the little things make.
And sometimes, when I’m walking down the street with my music up high and I suddenly see something that I haven’t spotted before and realise that the world is just brimful of things that are waiting to be seen – then the mundane takes on a new perspective and I get excited by how infinite the possibilities are –
The gratitude, then, is twofold. It includes the sights and the perception…
Because sometimes, even though I tie my head in knots and get lost in introspection, I am blown away by how amazing it is that we can think – and discuss – and create – and take a single thought and add it to another to make something entirely new.
It is quite astounding.
I’m also grateful for the thousands of people who’ve done this before us, and especially those who didn’t realise how much of an impact they have made.
I guess this is the beauty of thanks giving –
It gives you a chance to say.
