I just stumbled on this website - and haven't really had the chance to look at it yet - but I just can't express how happy I am to see that you are alive and well and recovering/recovered.
We were together at the Royal Free, in 2000. I was really worried about you then as you were extremely ill. That was a long time ago now, but I guess I may have always had a slight lurking worry that things may not have worked out.
I'm so happy to know you're OK.
Keep up the good work and may you be given every possible blessing now you are living more fully. With love, Pam.

I want to wish you well - as a fellow writer (author of Cardboard: A woman left for dead - a portrait of an eating disorder) I am very much of the belief it is possible to write your way out of recovery. To do so on a blog is brave!

It's amazing what a difference a year makes...even the things that you are convinced you will never be able to do become possible; and the reasons for recovery that are elusive when you're in the process become so much clearer over time! All the best in your journey Donna!

Thank you Josie - hearing that I am helping people makes this all worthwhile. Looking back, when I was struggling with recovery, I could comfort myself with the knowledge that the discomfort meant that I was moving in the right direction. It may be a tired phrase - but all things worth fighting for are hard work....and recovery is worth fighting for. Keep going!

I can't tell you how immensely helpful your website is. I am in the beginning stages of yet another recovery attempt, but this time it is sticking. Your words are amazing, poignant, encouraging and inspiring.
